Jon got his first guitar when he was 5 years
old and started taking lessons immediately
after from Jeff Logston. He took lessons for
4 years, but got burned out and took a year
off. Then, he decided to start playing again
and looked for Jeff but found out he stopped
teaching so he found a new teacher named
Dan Grudder. After 3 and a half years of
lessons, Dan told him that he couldn't teach
him anything that Jon
old and started taking lessons immediately

taught himself songs--mostly by ear. At age
13, he hooked up a guitar player, Tyler
Mustard, and a drummer, Taylor Moss,
through one of his dad's co-workers. They
played together for about 2-3 weeks when
Jon and Taylor decided that Tyler wasn't
doing very well. They then asked him to
leave the band. Jon and Taylor jammed
around for about 3-4 months and found a
bass player named Neil Hoffman. He was
also in the band for about 2-3 weeks and then
quit. After trying another bass player, Mike
Sutter, who didn't work out either, they
found a guitar player who lived down the
street from Jon. Ben, the 'guitar player down
the street,' had walked by Jon's house one
day when Jon's dad was outside. He asked
him if he played guitar and if he wanted to
come over to the house to play sometime.
Ben didn't want to because at that time he felt
his guitar playing wasn't up to par. A couple
of months later, some of Ben's friends went
over to Jon's house to hear him play. Then,
they went to
